Business Development Associate

Job Description

The primary role of Business Development Associates is to build purchasing by contacting and building relationships with new and existing vendors. They participate in and implement business strategies to increase brand awareness and purchasing power. They also assist with the development of marketing materials, analyze business competition, and maintain corporate vendor lists.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work to form new vendors relationships and strengthen existing vendor relationships to forge new opportunities
  • Establish and cultivate relationships with potential and existing clients through cold calling, meeting, and continued follow-up
  • Develop and generate new business opportunities leading to bidding awards
  • Assist in strategic planning in conjunction with senior buyer
  • Identify, plan, manage, coordinate, and attend all trade shows, conferences, workshops, speaking opportunities, dinners, and other networking events
  • Cultivate and maintain productive relationships with organizations, vendors, clients, and exhibitors
  • Others

Skills and Qualification

  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Working within time constraints
  • Self-motivated and strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to recognize new business opportunities and growth potential
  • Language: English, French is an asset
  • Microsoft office
  • Work experience 3-5 years

Experience and Education

  • College Degree in a Business related field
  • Marketing is an asset
  • Business Development: 3 years (Preferred)

Work Days:

  • Monday to Friday

Job Types: Contract, Full-time, Permanent

Work Environment:

  • Must be willing to travel to clients’ sites, Trade shows and Conferences.

Salary: $40,000.00-$70,000.00 per year
